Welcome to CBS

Community Bible Study (CBS) is a nondenominational Bible study for the community,

as well as classes around the world.

We welcome everyone, whether you are picking up the Bible for the very first time

or are a long-time student of God's Word.

Open Invitation: Visitors and new participants can join at any time.

Next Generation: We provide childcare and youth ministry from babies through high school.

Global Impact: CBS has over 1.1 million participants in 110 countries, using 88 languages.

Global Outreach: Santa Maria CBS supports Rwanda and Guatemala through our Ambassadors.

2026–2027 Class Details

Registration for the 2026–2027 class year is now OPEN! Classes begin on September 9th.

Registration fee is $40 per adult and $10 per child

This year, we will study:

Old Testament: The book of Ruth, 1 Samuel, and 2 Samuel.

New Testament: Christian Leadership - 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus.

Wednesday Morning Class

Time: Wednesdays, 10:15 am – 12:00 pm

Select Location: Grace Baptist Church

Wednesday Zoom Class

Time: Wednesdays, 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Select Location: Online via Zoom, register location is Grace Baptist Church

Tuesday Night Class for Women and for Men! Both classes are Tuesdays at Bethel Lutheran Church

Time: Tuesdays, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

What does the registration fee cover?
The fee covers your workbook, access to small group discussions, weekly large group lectures, and all childcare/youth ministry materials for the year.

Can I try a class before registering?
Yes! Visitors are welcome at any time during the class year. Come sit in on a session to see what CBS is like.

What if I cannot afford the registration fee?
Please do not let the cost keep you from attending. Scholarships are always available to cover registration costs.

Voluntary Giving & Tax Deductions

Our standard registration fees cover only a fraction of what it costs to run our program. Actual operating costs break down to $210 per adult participant each year.

All giving beyond the registration fee is strictly voluntary. Any financial contributions made over the first $40 of your registration fee are completely tax-deductible. Thank you for helping us keep this ministry accessible to all!

Currently Studying: Ruth and Samuel, Christian Leadership

You're invited to study the book of Ruth as well as 1 and 2 Samuel in the Old Testament

Did you know that the men and women of the Bible struggled in the same ways that we do today– with broken relationships, prayers that did not seem to be heard, shameful failures and personal trauma? This year we have the privilege to start our year with the books of Ruth and Samuel, and we will study the faith journeys of people like us. Though many of them were kings, priests, or prophets, they were also sons and daughters, husbands and wives and mothers and fathers. Some of these men and women took their pain and anger directly to God, but we will also study others who did not. Regardless of their responses, we will be reminded throughout these books that God remains faithful. Please join us as we are reminded of this important and timeless truth.

Followed by 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus in the New Testament beginning in February

MINISTRIES

Next Gen Ministry

Next Gen Ministry: Through a variety of activities such as Bible teaching, Scripture memory work, crafts, music, games and other activities, we seek to provide a nurturing environment where children and teens can learn about Jesus' wonderful love for them. We also come alongside parents as they teach and train their children to live out God’s truths in their lives. We welcome your children and teens to experience the love of Jesus through the loving servants in our CBS NextGen Ministry. Bible stories are shared with infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and children in 1st through 12th grade will study age-appropriate versions of the same passages that the adults do.
